One rainy afternoon, my aunt and I decided to go to the University of the Philippines to do an impromptu shoot at the UP Art Cafe. My aunt has always been interested in photography although it is not her chosen career path. She told me that when she was younger, she started using her dad’s rangefinder camera, where the challenge was to properly gauge the distance of the subject as seen on the view finder to the subject’s actual distance in real life. Sounds very complicated to me but apparently, that started her photography hobby.
Later on, she purchased her own SLR and delved in the world of film processing. All these sounded very romantic to me because when I was younger too, I fancied myself a budding photographer and I really wanted to learn how to process film. Unfortunately, by then, you can only learn such things if you apply to a proper photography course in school. I didn’t have the money or the gadget to successfully pursue that inclination.
Now, she’s practicing using a DSLR camera. She finds indoor photography challenging because the photos blur easily. I guess she hasn’t found the right settings yet for this. 🙂
I am happy enough to simply be the model on this particular day although sometimes, I still like being the one behind the lens. Don’t you just love the feeling of being able to frame individual objects, bringing them together to create a meaningful photo? I still love that creative process. That day though, I just felt privileged to be able to be in same photos with some of these brilliant masterpieces created by talented Filipino artists.
Speaking of work of arts, I’m excited to share with you these gemstone creations by Twinklepuff Accessories. They produce custom-made accessories made from precious stones and other quality materials. I absolutely love the pieces they created for me. In the photos above, I’m wearing a stacked bracelet from their arm swag collection made from ceramic, wooden beads, and cord.
When you order from Twinklepuff, you will get your bracelet safely packaged in a velvet pouch to avoid it getting scratched. Each accessory also comes with a paper that details the materials used plus the significance of each. Aside from the pink stack, I also got a single strand bracelet, which has a Chinese Cabbage charm. If you can read its significance above, it’s absolutely perfect for my current situation. 🙂
The thing I like best about Twinklepuff’s accessories is that not only are they meaningful but also, you can tell that it’s good quality. It has weight (though it’s not heavy) so you know it’s not plastic! 🙂
That’s it for now folks! I hope you all have a great weekend!
