I’m Back – Updates and an OOTD

Today, my friend told me that he couldn’t believe it when he saw that my last post on my blog was made last August 28. I couldn’t believe it myself! One day, I decided to stop writing for a while because I was too busy and it was so difficult accessing WordPress in China and before I knew it, a month has passed since I last visited my blog. Time flies by so fast!

To be honest, I’ve been back in the Philippines for a month now. I have no excuse for not writing except that I got lazy. There was a time when I never went a day without updating my blog. Where has all that discipline gone? I guess sometimes we just need a break even from the things we love to do. For a time, blogging took over my life and I got tired of it. I started blogging for fun but eventually, I became pressured to update regularly as my blog slowly gained recognition. I didn’t like it (I know I’m weird) so I stopped. Now, I’m back at square one – blogging just for fun (mixed with a bit of business but mostly fun). πŸ™‚

Before I left for China, Rhea and I did an OOTD marathon so I can supposedly blog even while I’m in China. I had several evening dresses and clothes, which I got for my birthday, to shoot. That plan didn’t work out so well but I still have my photos so I will post several outfit posts in the coming days. I also plan to write about my experiences in China so expect some travel blogging.

In the two months I’ve stayed in China, I have actually learned to fall in love with the country. Much as I had many negative preconceived notions about it, I was happily disabused of my prejudices. There are many beautiful things to see there. I love the temples, the scenery, and the culture! People there love to walk so I have learned to enjoy it myself even though before I went there, I loathed walking. Case in point: I took a cab from SM Megamall to Podium (about 100m distance) because I was too lazy to walk! I’m horrid.

Now, I’m preparing to get a work visa so I can stay there for a year. I’m nervous and excited at the same time! I’m nervous about the process because the Chinese embassy is known to be very strict but I am very much excited about going back to China. I love the people there and my work there, as well. I can’t wait to go back!

When I get there, it’s going to be autumn so I need to start transitioning my clothes to be more autumn/winter appropriate. Oh and another reason for my excitement – this will be my first experience of winter because I lived in a tropical country all my life! I’m psyched just thinking about how I’m going to dress up for it! hahaha Yes, it’s very shallow. πŸ™‚

Having said that, I need to look for cheap dresses and other affordable winter clothes. I’ve already bought myself some jackets. I also need to start buying appropriate footwear. I’ll buy most of them in China, I guess. I will do a haul post once I got everything. πŸ™‚

Outfit Details:

  • White, sparkly dress from Topshop
  • Pink pumps from Parisian
  • Pink clutch from Zalora
  • Necklace and bracelet borrowed from Rhea

All right, that’s about it for now. Here I am back to just rambling on and on. Hope to hear from you guys! I have missed you all!

  2. Wow, I love EVERYTHING about this outfit, from the unique cut of the dress to the amazingly coordinated accessories you paired with it. And I don’t think your attitude about experiencing winter is shallow at all. Well, maybe it is, but I’m shallow, too. My husband and I intend on moving to a cooler climate within the next couple of years, and I’ll admit that all I’m thinking about is the opportunity for cute new boots and jackets. LOL I hope you will continue to post regularly because I love your blog!

    1. Hahahaha Glad that you understand my excitement! :)) I’ve always dreamed about dressing for winter so I am very much looking forward to it. Whether I’ll actually enjoy the winter cold… now that’s another story! hehehe πŸ˜€

      1. I grew up in Minnesota, which is a state in the northern United States that is absolutely FREEZING. The snow was gorgeous, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the icy cold! It definitely thickens your blood living in a place like that. πŸ˜‰
