Years ago, I wished for a beauty box service here in the Philippines. I found the concept of subscribing to a monthly box filled with beauty products awesome. Then, as if the Goddesses of Beauty finally decided to grant me a wish, a slew of beauty box companies emerged in the Philippine market last year. I was in beauty box nirvana! 🙂
I have tried the services of a few of them but this time around, I’m showing you what’s inside the Glamour Box. If you haven’t heard of the Glamour Box, then you must have been living under a rock (kidding!). They had tons of Facebook ads last year and several bloggers have written about them. This particular brand was definitely making quite a buzz online.
All right, enough talk and on to contents of Glamourbox:
Every Glamour Box comes in a sturdy white box like the one above. I personally like the simplicity of the packaging.
Open the box and you will see its contents carefully wrapped in tissue. You will also get a letter from the team explaining the inspiration for the month’s box. Mine’s the February Glamourbox hence the romance theme.
Inside, I found these items nestled against shredded paper. I would have probably preferred the box without the paper as it’s literally a waste of paper but hey, maybe it’s just me. 😉
On to the more interesting contents of the box:
First is this customizable makeup palette from Wild Peach (P298). The contents you see below are not included but are in fact my poor attempt at decanting some of my makeup. 😉 In case you’re not familiar with its purpose, it’s basically a makeup palette with a magnetic base such that when you place your decanted makeup trays like the one in the photo below, it sticks, thus allowing you to create your own palette of products from different brands. I love the print on this! Rawr!
It also contained this interesting product – a lash serum from KJI & Co (P1,395 for a 2ml tube). These lash serum promises to “prevent virgin hair from being adversely affected by cosmetic and environmental factors.” Results are promised after 5 days. I have thin lashes so this might give me some hope. I shall start using this today and give you feedback after a week. 🙂
The other samples in the box include the following:
A PHP500 voucher to Cuzo.
A sample of Snoe Beauty’s Argan Oil (P799 for a 25ml full-sized bottle)
A sample of Calvin Klein’s Beauty (P5,498 for a full-sized 100ml bottle). I really like this floral scent. It’s very sophisticated and feminine 🙂
A tube of Carmex was also in the box worth P109.75.
Having shown you that, here’s the million dollar question, does it live up to the hype?
Honestly? I would say not completely. I’d give it a 7.5/10.
In terms of quality of products, I give my hats of Glamourbox. I’ve seen other subscription boxes offering products that you’ve never heard of before. Glamourbox, however, has been consistently delivering top-notch products every month.
The only room for improvement would be in the selection. When I read the theme for the February Glamour Box (Romantic Beauty), I got excited. It’s a great theme. When I looked at the selection of products in the box, however, I found it difficult to relate them to the theme (except for the perfume, perhaps).
The good thing, though, is you can see the products lined up every month in their website and you can decide to purchase that month’s box if you like what you see. The same cannot be said for those who decided to get the long-term subscriptions.
Well, what do you guys think? Let me know your opinions below 🙂
