Months ago, work was particularly stressful. It came to a point when I woke up some days thinking, “I never wanna go to work anymore!”
Salvation finally came mid-October when the day for my pre-scheduled trip to Boracay arrived. It provided me with the perfect escape to think, rediscover myself, and discern what I really wanted to do with my future. More importantly, though, the trip allowed me to rest and not think about work for once. For four blissful days, all I thought about was the beach, where to eat next, and whether or not the DJ was going to be any good when I go party at night. I lived a blissful, hedonistic existence – one I would like to repeat again!
During our stay there, One Azul at Station 1 was our home. It’s a boutique hotel located between Discovery Shores and Pearl of the Pacific. Because it was nearly at the far end of Station 1 and it wasn’t peak season when we went, there weren’t a lot of people loitering about the area so you’re guaranteed a very restful stay especially at night. It’s also just a few paces from the beach front so as soon as you step out of your room, you don’t have to walk far to take a tip or sun bathe.
Moreover, the rooms are clean, well-decorated, and cozy. We were given the Penthouse for PHP3,500 per night but due to some complications with the water heating, we were given two deluxe rooms instead still at PHP3,500 per night. Not bad, right?
Right outside One Azul are two eating places – Gloria’s, which sells Filipino dishes and the best breakfast sets and Kasbah, a Moroccan-themed restaurant.
On our first day there, we had our lunch at Kasbah and ordered their seafood tagine and pita bread with hummus. The meal was delicious although a bit pricey. If you have money to spare, though, then you should definitely check out Kasbah. They have a great selection of Moroccan dishes that will surely satisfy adventurous tummies.
For brunch, my go to place was Gloria’s. As mentioned above, it served the best breakfast sets ranging from Filipino, Continental, British, and American. My friends liked ordering their Filipino set, which had tapsilog, fresh mangoes, rice, and your choice of coffee or juice. I, on the other hand, had the American set (PHP200) almost everyday because I LOVE bacon! I really took my sweet time gobbling up two sunny side ups, three slices of toast topped with butter and jelly, and bacon. I also had my choice of juice or coffee to go with my meal.
Our dinner, on the other hand, was always at D’ Talipapa. There, we got to shop for our own seafood at the wet market then have our purchases cooked fresh. Our favorite dish was baked prawns in butter garlic sauce. It was sooo good!
When I’m not thinking about food, I spent my days on a sun lounge by the beach people – watching or taking a dip in the sea. There’s not much to say about that, really, because it’s nothing exciting anyway. Instead, I’ll just share with you some photos of myself with my friends. 🙂

You cannot fully enjoy Boracay without taking part in its buzzing night life. Partying, for me, was one of the best things I did there. I’m not sure about you guys but I really do enjoy partying. There’s something so liberating about having a few drinks and dancing the night away! Take note, though, that I would always advocate everyone to drink responsibly. Making a fool of yourself by getting too wasted is so not cool! 🙂
That out of the way, Epic was my favorite party place in Bora. I was there every night! Hahaha The thing I love about the Boracay party scene is that it’s still very laid back. No need to put so much effort in dressing up. You can go wearing your flip flops and sando and no one would care.
Just a quick tip, the real party starts after midnight! 😉
Quick tip #2: If you’re there with friends, make sure to try their pitcher of Sangria and Mojito. Both are soooo delicious!!!
Now that’s my entire Boracay trip summarized into a few paragraphs. Do let me know if you’re planning a trip there too and have some questions. I will do my best to answer them. 🙂
Have a great weekend, everyone!!!
