Burberry Prorsum is one of my top three favorite fashion brands of all time. I think Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey is a genius at creating masterpieces that merge both new and classic ideas. One thing I particularly like about Burberry is the fact that every piece looks luxurious, from the rich fabrics to the perfectly tailoring.
For Spring / Summer 2013, a line-up of pulsingly vibrant colors walked down the runway – a delightful change from the usual Burberry neutrals. However, the well-loved classic Burberry trench coat silhouette remains a staple in this collection. The twist, though, is in the color, texture, and fabric. Who can deny the beauty of the trench coats below?
In addition to the trench coats, corsets are another noticeable theme on the runway. These pieces are reminiscent of what Christopher Bailey was quoted to refer to as old “British Glamour.” No wonder the silhouette of some of the outfits remind me so much of 1940s fashion.
Lastly, the runway was also graced by models wearing beautiful capes. It’s not a usual sight for summer but it may definitely prove useful for spring.
