Weekend Getaway at Caylabne

I know I’ve been terribly quiet lately. These days, I feel like I need to escape for a bit. I want to crawl into a cave and hibernate until I’m ready to face the world again. Not that I’m heartbroken or anything depressing like that but I guess I just need a break. 🙂

Luckily, though, I was able to escape a bit during my birthday weekend as my friends and I set off to Casa de Cala Buena at Caylabne Bay Resort in Cavite. Having no idea about what to expect, it was a joy to discover a paradise relatively close to the bustling metropolis of Metro Manila.

Have you ever had the dilemma of either wanting to go a mountain or beach resort? At Caylabne, you can have both and even more as it is a bay nestle against mountains with an estuary within the property. Here, you can savor the mountain breeze, explore the wildlife, explore the mangroves at the estuary, and take a dip in the sea or pool if you prefer.

My friend had a property in the area so we were able to stay there for free. We stayed at a rustic little house with a vintage charm fronting the estuary. It had its own private pool for us to enjoy in case we wanted some privacy but it was also close enough to the beach front.

At the time we were there, few people were in the area except for a group that was having their company team building. They were indoors busy doing their own thing though so it was very peaceful and if I wanted to, I could have passed the time in solitary reflection, just being one with nature. Since we were only there for a day though, I spent most of my time wading in the beach in my T-shirt as everyone else seemed to be doing the same. Hehehe

Just beware of a couple of jellyfish floating with you since Caylabne is a nature reserve so wildlife are encouraged to propagate. 🙂

At the end of the day, I just wish that we had more time to enjoy the beach and explore the area more. It was such a beautiful place to do an outfit post in but alas, I didn’t have the time to squeeze one in. If you were to visit the area, I recommend staying there at least overnight to fully make the most out of it.

By the way, you don’t need to own a house here to visit. They have various accommodations and packages for tourists. You can view the map going to the area here.

P.S. Most of my photos are from my friend Kim.

  1. Love the photos and I will surely go there soon since my cousins are from Cavite. Hope I’ll have fun as you did. Happy B-day again Mich 😉
