OOTD: Fighting Gloom with Gold

When you wake up with the rain pouring outside, it’s really hard to find the energy to get out of bed. I guess it’s partly because I have conditioned myself to sleep to the sound of rain by playing rain tracks whenever insomnia strikes. Ever heard of Pavlov and his dog? If you have, then you will get me. πŸ™‚

So, to give me the energy to wake up and lug myself to a morning meeting, I exercised my mind by thinking about what to wear that day. Foremost in my thoughts was the gold skirt I got from What a Girl Wants at the Ramp Crossings, Trinoma recently.

There’s nothing like a shiny piece of clothing to disperse the gloom. Every girl’s got a mag pie hidden inside her. We can’t resist anything that’s shiny.

Outfit details:

  • Black camisole – Mango
  • Skirt – What a Girl Wants at the Ramp Crossings
  • Blazer – Landmark
  • Bracelets – Landmark
  • Shoes – Folded and Hung, Trinoma

In the summer, I would have worn this skirt with a tube top or a tank top or even a corset. Considering that it was chilly though and I was off to go to client meetings, I paired layered a simple black blazer on top and cinched everything in with a skinny belt. Skinny belts are all the rage this season.

My Folded and Hung platforms went perfectly well with the theme of the outfit. Plus, they protected my feet from rainy day puddles by elevating them. I don’t know about you but there’s nothing I hate more than getting my feet wet on water from the streets. I can just imagine all the germs swimming in there. Hence, I actually wear heels more often during the rainy days. Do you do the same?

    Edgy and sexy~

I hate when my feet get wet in the rain, too! Urgh. I never thought of using heels to elevate my feet, though. I usually just used closed shoes. But using heels sounds like a better and girlier solution! Haha
