Messy Attempt at Jason Wu F/W 2012 Makeup

While browsing through some fashion blogs, I came across the makeup from Jason Wu’s F/W 2012 and fell absolutely in love with it. One night last week, when I had nothing better to do, I decided to try my hand at recreating it. I can’t say that I’ve been very successful – I don’t think I have the right products for this look – but I sort of liked the result anyway so I’m sharing it with you guys.

Jason Wu F/W 2012

Ok, to recreate the eye for this look, I think you will be needing a cream base, an eyeliner pencil in that shade of blue-green, plus powder eye shadow. Unfortunately, I only had powder eye shadow palettes so I made use of them.

Before anything, I wore an eye primer to intensify the colors on my palettes. Then, for the base, I used this shimmery brown shade from Sleek’s Storm palette to replicate the brown base in the visual.

Then, also from the visual, we can see that a bright blue-green eye shadow / pencil is used on the lash line and along the crease. I did that using a bright green shade from my Doll Face Vanity Palette.

Right here, you can see that I applied the green shadow quite liberally. Looking back, I should have used a finer brush and kept the green close to the lash line and only along the crease.

To make up for my mistake, I intensified the brown by dabbing it on the center of my lids, blending as I went along.

Now, that the green is done, we need to add some black close to the lash line just to add some depth. From the pictures above, some black also seems to be evident along the lash line. For the bottom lash line, however, there seems to be nothing except for eyeliner and mascara so that’s what I did.

The eyes are finally done! Next step is to run some powder in your brows to fill them in. The models in the photos above also seem to have some powder in their brows.

Then, move on the face. Apply your foundation (applying this after doing the eyes will clean up the fall outs that can result from doing a strong eye makeup) and conceal any imperfections. For the blush, choose a soft pink color. Using a teeny tiny bit of bronzer, contour the cheeks.

The models don’t seem to have anything on the lips but I chose to apply a nude lip color with a slight touch of pink. For this I mixed NYX’s Circe with Sleek’s Rose Petal.

Then there you have it… the finished look!

The light in my bedroom doesn’t really pick up the green color but I swear it was green. Hahaha I wish I had the cheekbones to pull of this look but unfortunately, my face is too round even with the contour. Haha

Oh well, I gotta practice some more to improve. 🙂 What do you guys think?
