A Typical Day in the Life of Mich

I was intending to post a review on Revlon’s Custom Eyes Mascara today but since that will take a lot of effort to compose, I thought I’d push it to another day when I’m not feeling so tired. Instead, I’ll write about something fun and simple – a typical day in the life of Mich.

Every work day starts with a long taxi ride. I’ve actually ridden in so many taxis that at some point, I thought about writing a blog called, “Taxi Diaries,” to document all the entertaining (and not so entertaining) moments I’ve had during my taxi adventures – from drivers with British accents to awkward situations when a driver tries to hit on me.

Moving on, every day at work is different. There are days when I’m so busy I barely have enough time to eat or pee, but there are also very chill days when I can afford to go to the mall and loiter at Forever 21. Of course, I wish every day was chill day but I also enjoy the times when I’m hustling all day long. During these days, time flies by so fast that before I know it, it’s already time to go home.

When I’m stressed, I try to make it a point to stop for while and look at our post card wall. It displays most of the post cards I got while I was addicted to post crossing last year. I’ve stopped for now but I think I’ll go back once I’m not so busy. I kind of miss getting postcards from random strangers all over the world. ๐Ÿ™‚

At lunch, you can either see me in my table eating my packed lunch while working or going to a nearby restaurant to indulge in a delicious meal. I especially like eating Japanese, Korean, and Indian food. It’s so convenient that Podium is right across the building and SM Mega Mall is just a few blocks away.

Then work, work, work, again!

By the time it’s mid-afternoon, though, I always find myself getting hungry so if I can spare a 15-minute break, my work mates and I would go down to buy some snack. When we’re not so busy, we go to Mega Mall food court for more food choices. However, when we’re tight on time, we just drop by the 7-11 near beside our building to grab some quick snacks. I enjoyed drinking this Mogu Mogu drink with real nata de coco. I also love 7-11’s hard-boiled egg with salt. ๐Ÿ™‚

After work, I spend most of my time working at home (when I’m in the mood to be a workaholic), in social networking sites wasting my time, or writing on my blog. Mostly, it’s me waiting til my boyfriend comes home so we can have our daily two-hour Skype session. Well, these days, our sessions have been cut down to an hour since we’re both so tired from work.

Weekends are my favorite days of the week. When I was a fresh grad, I didn’t understand why weekend was so important. Now I know. It’s the only time you have as a working citizen to be lazy and do absolutely nothing. For me, I spend most of my weekends in my room, reading, catching up on my TV series, and spending timeย with Tom. Some times, we play this game called Risk. He always beats me and most of the time, we end up fighting because I’m a sore loser and I get grumpy every time I lose.

Our quarrels don’t usually last long though. Tom uses his kitty cats to cheer me up. He has seven cats at the moment and they are all soooo cute! Hehehe I tried giving them ridiculous names like messy, lazy, and clingy – names that Tom says describe me. I disagree, of course! But, Tom ended up giving them even more ridiculous names, i.e. snarf, meowth, salem, and floppy.

Since my weekends are mostly spent with Tom, I sort of spend it doing the things he likes doing like making his own beer. I knew nothing about hops and fermentation before but now, I can claim to have a flimsy knowledge about beer making. Haha

When we find ourselves having lots of time, I wheedle him into cooking Filipino food for me. This is his version of the Kare-Kare. Yes, he dumped rice on top of some of the containers. I told him that’s not how things are done but he has his own ways, I guess.

So that about sums up some of the typical days in the life of Mich. I live a pretty boring life, apparently. I rarely ever go out because I love staying in bed more.

How about you? What’s a typical day like in your life? ๐Ÿ™‚

I like Risk too. Played it a lot when I was growing up. ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. I love Mogu Mogu too! ๐Ÿ˜€ Anyway, I am definitely like you when it comes to riding taxis. Since I live way up north in the Metro, I had no other choice but to take a cab too, given that there’s no other convenient mode of public transpo. Some find riding taxis scary, but in my case, it’s the taxi drivers who gets scared when I tell them to drive me to Malabon.. hahaha.. XD

Thanks for sharing parts of your typical day. It’s really an amusing read! ๐Ÿ˜€ And btw, don’t worry ’cause I bet everyone loves staying in bed! ^^

  4. That’s not a boring life at all, Ate Mich! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
To work in an office with an amazing view, to be just a few steps away from malls, to have your bf play Risk with you and cook food when you ask, to come home to readers who love your blog…I’d say you’re living the life ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Ah, I love Postcrossing too! So far I’ve received around 10 already, but I’ve stopped temporarily because the post office charges me P40, when it’s P14 during my first visits..:(
