When I stepped into Beauty & Butter at SM Mega Mall, I was very pleasantly surprised. I didn’t expect the harmonious burst of colors that greeted me upon entry. Usually, nail salons are painted a girly, calming color (like pink and lavender) to get you into the spa mood. This establishment, however, was bold, bright, and different. For that alone, I instantly liked it.
I would like you all to meet Butter – that girl on the wall. At first glance, I thought that this was some sort of Korean-inspired salon. The wall is a bit reminiscent of KPOP art (or is it just me?). Upon talking to the marketing manager, however, she told me that Beauty & Butter was inspired by pop art. Hence, the wall is a mixed media masterpiece that’s certainly a conversation starter. Quite a smart move I think because often, it’s so easy to get bored while having your nails done. The wall and even the furnishings, however, stimulates the mind and keeps it preoccupied with cheery thoughts.
If that’s not enough for you, though, there’s the TV. It was playing a show called “Wild Cats” at the time I was there. It was about some cheer leading group struggling to make it big – a good old chick flick can never go wrong. 🙂
Moving on, I also admired the wide selection of products found in the store. From glitters to the latest spring / summer collections and even organic nail polish, the place seemed to have it all.The staff told me that the general manager was an avid collector of nail polishes so she kept Beauty & Butter up to date with the latest in the industry.
Here’s Orly’s Holiday Collection:
Also in store is Orly’s Cool Romance collection for Spring/Summer 2012. This collection has a lovely selection of pastels. I’m most in love with “Jealous, Much?” and “Steal Your Heart.”
These bunch caught my attention the most as the manicurist told me that this was vegan, organic nail polish. First time I’ve ever heard of such. How about you?
I found this nail polish display really cute so I just had to take a photo of it.
Aside from nails, Beauty & Butter also offers massage and facial services so they also have products that cater to these. I was told that they burn this vegan candle from Sparitual when you get a massage. It smelled really good.
They also carry their own products, which include this soap and massage oil.
Before I forget, I’ll end this review by saying that I was satisfied with the service I got here. The staff were all very professional and knew what they were talking about. They were obviously well-trained. The price point for the different services offered are also competitive, i.e. similar to other salons. You can see their full service menu here.
Sorry if this review seemed a bit disjointed. I don’t think I’ll have the time to review before I post and I’m at the moment stressing about the start of another work week. Work’s been kinda busy so I barely have enough time to blog. 😦
I will try to make it up to you guys this week, though. 🙂 Hope you all have a great week!
Thank you all for taking care of my blog while I was gone! xxx
