NOTD: Starry, Starry Nails

I don’t know about you, but I’m extremely fickle with nail polish. I only seem to want to wear a color once then I get sick of it and don’t want to use it anymore. This is why I very RARELY buy expensive ones. For me, it won’t be worth it especially if I only use them once, right?

Now I’ve got a drawer-full of them and just lately, I caught myself hoarding some more from Bobbie, Caronia, and Chic Nails. I noticed how they’ve added some new things to their collection so I got excited and well, also got carried away. Perhaps when I go home to Zamboanga, I’ll bring some of them and give them to the lady who comes at the house to do my nails. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, the three below are from my most recent haul.

First one’s a plane black polish called Kohl (PHP35).

Then the glittery one next to it is called Solar Burst (PHP36).

Lastly, I’ve also got this shimmery purple one funny labelled after the cocktail “Weng Weng” (PHP36).

Bored one night, I got inspired to mix them all together and do my own version of the galaxy trend I’ve been seeing a lot lately. Beware, I’m not an expert at applying nail polish so my manicure is admittedly messy.ย If you’re anal about such things, please look away. ๐Ÿ˜€

On to the mini tutorial / sharing:

I started by applying Kohl as base.

Then I put a thin layer of solar burst on top.

Thinking that solar burst was a bit to golden against the black back drop, I then decided to add Weng Weng on top to subdue the color of the glitters a bit.

Then there you have it, galaxy-inspired nails shiny enough to mimic a starry, starry night.

What do you think? Don’t worry, I won’t be hurt if you say it looks stupid. Although I quite like the result, I know I’m not a nail painting expert. ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ll share with you guys the rest of my nail polish haul next time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. you gave e an idea to mix n match nail polish ๐Ÿ™‚ at far, it looks good! just don’t be that near to people ๐Ÿ™‚ lolz… maybe, not to put much glitters (3rd one) since the second coat has glitter effect, too… it can be a sub to nail art if you can just put the stars on the edge ๐Ÿ™‚ more!!!

so jealous!! Nail polish looks horrible on my nails for some reason. The only things I can pull off are french tips and colorless nail polish…and those aren’t any fun ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
