Last Thursday, I started my day really early (3 AM!) to attend the first day of the 17th Philippine Hot Air Festival in Clark, Pampanga. I was there for work but I made sure to make time to check out the balloons since it was my first time to witness the event.
The reason for leaving so early is that most of the balloons are inflated by 6 AM so if you want to witness them lifting off from the ground, then you gotta be there at that time. By 7 AM, most of the balloons are gone and you would have missed a very special moment. 🙂
As you can see, the sun was just barely peeking from the clouds when the balloons were slowly being inflated. A crowd was already gathering around the fence to await take off.
A few minutes of waiting and the balloons started to take shape. Seeing the odd-shaped ones excited me so much! Cake and ice cream balloons are awesome!
This jolly flower put a HUGE smile on my face. So cute!!!
Also new this year are Iwi the Kiwi from New Zealand and Panda!
Ooh I was so excited, I wanted to jump up and down with glee! 😀
Then the balloons started flying! I felt like a giddy child again.
Bye, bye, cake!!!
Bye, bye, Ice cream and car!!!
One of the times when I wish I had a super camera with super zoom! The balloons looked so pretty and colorful up against the backdrop of blue sky! Oh how I wish I was riding one of them 🙂
I caught the flower balloon saying hello to two sky divers. 😀
Then it turned around and winked at me!
This is me looking very, very happy even though I haven’t slept yet. The sight was worth losing sleep over. What a fantastic way to start the day!
And in case you didn’t notice, I was wearing my SMART Rocket Plug-It Chic around my neck! Haha I brought it just in case I needed to be online for work. Don’t you think it makes a great fashion accessory? 😀
That was one rocket high day! I was sooo happy even though I was sooo tired! 😀
How about you? Have ever been to the Philippine Hot Air Balloon Festival? What do you think of the balloons?
