Nails of the Day: Metallics and Grays

One of Fall 2011’s hottest nail trends include metallics, particulary in the shades of silver and gray. Examples include Chanel’s Nail Color in Graphite ($22) and NARS Nail Polish in Galion ($17).        (Photo from OurVanity.com)

For those looking for a cheaper alternative to this trend, however, there’s Tony Moly’s Nail Polish in AM05 Ash Gray. Unlike the more expensive brands mentioned above, this one retails for only about PHP298. With this, you get a really stunning shade of gray, that looks so chic when worn.

I only applied one coat on my nails, without base or top coat, to test it out and I noticed that it started chipping on the second day. Personally, I find this a normal occurrence for any nail varnish regardless of the brand. I guess I’m just not careful enough to keep my nails from chipping.

Really happy with this purchase! Looking forward to using it some more :>

By the way, by the time this post comes up, I’ll probably be on my way to CamSur for the 2011 Philippine Ad Congress. As such, it might take awhile for me to respond to you guys. Fear not, I shall still check my blog when I get the time. 🙂

Have a great day, lovelies!

  1. Grabe, I didn’t know greys and metallics are in. I saw this really nice grey from Nature Republic but didn’t get it yet because I wanted to get the clear one with small glitters ^^ Now I regret my decision to not get it yet because it was just so gorgeous! And it might be cheaper than Tony Moly because they have nail polish at 65 per bottle. 🙂

I use a base coat and top coat nowadays. They do help keep the nail polish on much longer 🙂

    1. I better try Nature Republic! So many people are talking about it but the nearest to my house is Trinoma and even then, I feel too lazy to go there! Hahaha

Yep, base and top coats help but again, I’m tooo lazy especially since I have to do it myself 😛
