Who Wants a Dramatic Eyeliner? I do!

It’s a wonder how a little bit of eyeliner can change a look. Whether it be to give more emphasis to the eyes or change one’s eye shape completely, a good eyeliner will sure be handy!

In the search for the perfect one, I’ve tested several eyeliners myself. Pencils for softer, smudgy looks, liquids for precise, graphic looks, and gel as the best middle ground between pencil and liquid liners.

To be honest, my favorite would be gel eye liners. I find them very easy to use and at the same time, they stay put for ages, thus not making me too worried about looking like a raccoon by the end of the night.

My go to gel eyeliner brand would be Maybelline’s Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. Besides it being very affordable, I find it to be almost at par with the quality of more expensive brands such as Bobbi Brown. This small pot comes with its own brush that’s surprisingly usable. But, that’s just me thinking that brushes that go with products are a bit rubbish. 🙂 Anyway, here are the product’s fine points:

1) It is in fact very long-lasting as it says. I wear it out all night long, whilst dancing in a club and getting all sweaty, but it stays put. Proven and tested! This is not to say, however, that it will never smudge. Oily lids will most definitely budge it but not to horrible extents. 🙂

2) It goes on smoothly although not as smoothly as Bobbi Brown. Nevertheless, it can still give you a nice, clean line so it’s all good!

3) Unless you wear this every day, a pot will last a long time! Good thing too because it doesn’t dry up quickly so you’re really getting your money’s worth with this one.

4) As I’ve already mentioned, this product is affordable. At PHP449, it’s way cheaper than its high-end counterparts but does exactly the same thing.

Definitely, I advise everyone to give this a try if you’re looking for a perfect gel eyeliner. Promise, you won’t regret it! 😉

  1. I have been considering gel eyeliners, Mich. 🙂 Right now, I use a pen-type liquid eyeliner by K-Palette but there are just so many bloggers who love gel eyeliners. I was thinking about getting this but Tony Moly released theirs which has two colors in one pot. (It’s more expensive though.)

One thing that worries me about eyeliner is how long it will stay put on my really oily eyelids 😦

  2. I just bought the same eyeliner to try out. May have to have a few attempts. Don’t know why but my hands seem to get the shakes whenever I put on eyeliner and no other time LOL

    1. Maybe it’s psychosomatic and the shaking is the result of you being anxious of making a mess of it? Just relax 😉 A few practice strokes and you’ll be an expert in no time. Had to practice a lot too to get it right 😉 Let me know how it goes 🙂
