I’m a lotion addict. I cannot live a day without rubbing on some lotion on my hands and feet. Well, it’s not to say that I would die without it, but I will be constantly disturbed throughout the day by the nagging feeling that my body’s so PARCHED.
As silly as it may sound, this is not an exaggeration on my end. That’s really how I feel. Looking back, it’s probably because as a kid, my mom taught me to always use lotion following every bath. After years of religiously doing so, the habit has become a necessary action for my peace of mind.
This is one of the reasons why I found the Nivea event last Thursday so relevant for me. It launched the skin care company’s latest product – the Nivea Express Hydration lotion. It contains Hydra IQ, a Nobel prize-winning technology that activates the skin’s own moisture from within, leaving it hydrated for as long as 24 hours.
Of course, needless to say, I have tried the product myself to verify the claims it makes. So far, I have been using it for four days and in that short span, I think that I have found my new favorite. There are three things that I love most about the product:
1. Its fast-absorbing and light, thus relieving me of the sticky feeling that some lotions leave.
2. It does keep my skin – especially my dry and flaky palms – feeling so soft and moisturized.
3. Its Blue Lotus scent is very mild, which I like because products with strong fragrances make me sneeze.
The event itself was held at Mango, Power Plant Mall branch, and was attended by some of the top fashion and beauty bloggers in the country. Now this collaboration leads to the second purpose of the event, which was to launch Nivea Philippines’ exciting new Facebook application called the “Glam Board Express.”
(Here’s me looking serious while fiddling with the app.)
This application allows users to create their own fashion mood boards to express their unique style and at the same time, show off their gorgeous skin. The app is supposed to go live on August 18, so I think I shall give it a go then and make a separate post regarding it.
I spent most of my time going around the store with other bloggers who were participating in the styling contest held before the program. I couldn’t participate myself because I was there for work. Boo! I wanted to, though, as the members of the winning team each won a gigantic Nivea gift pack and a watch from Mango. I’m absolutely jealous!
Good thing that the food catered by Cibo offered me some comfort. The chicharon (pork rinds) with cream cheese hors d’ oeuvre plus the pasta were particularly to die for! Yum, yum, yum!
Also, I got this awesome gift pack from Nivea, which contained products that I actually use, i.e. the Pure and Natural deo and the flavored lip balms.
Thanks so much, Nivea, for the fun event!
Good job as well to the team behind it. 🙂
P.S. All photos except that of the gift packs were taken by the very talented Pranz Kaeno.
