Quick Guide to Mac Lipsticks 2: Peach, Fuchsia, Plum, Brick, Brown

Finally, here’s the second installment to my quick guide for Mac lipsticks. I have been looking forward to doing this post since I love color, not only on my lips but also in other things: clothes, accessories, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, the products in my last post were also gorgeous, but my favorite lipsticks are most definitely in this batch.

Charm Factor

Charm Factor on the lips can only be likened to a juicy peach. Your lips would look just as delectable. It’s a perfect color for summer!

Embraceable

If you’re looking for a more subdued peachy color for your lips, then this product is for you. What differentiates it from Charm Factor is that it makes your lips look shiny (because of the shimmer in it) as opposed to wet. Also, this has a subtle bronze undertone that makes it slightly darker.  Definitely one of my favorites 🙂

Lustering

I thought this lipstick had an interesting name. I’m not sure if it refers to the finish or the feeling you get when you see it because I am most definitely in lust with the color. I’m also sure that this color will inspire lust among those who gaze upon it on another’s lips =) It’s a vibrant fuchsia that adds an instant pop of color to the face. Quite an attention getter.

Plumful

I would say Plumful is a darker shade of lustering with a tinge of violet in it. It’s a good color too but I would prefer lustering over it. For some reason, I think this shade has an identity crisis just because it claims to be plum by name but it’s more red violet than plum, really. I think plum would be just a bit more violet.

Twig

If you want to own a red lipstick but you’re not comfortable with something that’s too bright or eye-catching, then Twig is the product to buy. This is an easier color to wear than the usual reds because it blends quite well with the natural lip color. The satin finish is also perfect since it fits with the color’s conservative tone.

Viva Glam V

Oh my, I am in love with this shade. It’s a soft, soft brown with what appears to be red and gold glitter. The glitter makes the usually dull brown color much, much more exciting. I really can’t describe it. You have to try it on yourself to see what I mean but it really is gorgeous! PLUS, when you buy this or any product from the Viva Glam collection, 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Mac Aids Fund, which aims “to serve people of all ages, all races, and all sexes affected by HIV and AIDS.” It’s amazing  how far the proceed from one stick of lipstick can go to help those afflicted by HIV and AIDS.

Swatches

Here are the swatches of the products used for your appreciation. I was able to borrow my cousin’s canon 40d for this hence the better quality. I wish I had a better camera too because I’m so low-tech at the moment. *tears*

And this, I believe, concludes my review on Mac lipsticks (that is, until I get more products). After using these for several weeks now, I can say that I have been converted. Mac truly has great products and again, the color range is quite fascinating!

Moreover, I’m not sure if everyone already knows this, but they’ll give you a free lipstick if you surrender any 6 empty mac products at their counters! What a good reward for your loyalty. All cosmetics company should do this. Hehehe 🙂

P.S. I’m sorry if people are sick of looking at my face by now 🙂 I have similar expressions in my photos coz it is quite difficult to have several! 😀
